Wine for raw vegetables

Raw vegetables usually tend to be pleasantly crisp, juicy and with pronounced acidity. The towering character is the overriding characteristic of raw vegetables, so it is worth reaching for a wine with similar qualities. Refreshing Prosecco-style sparkling wines, expressive Sauvignon Blanc or even young Chardonnay untouched by barrel will be the perfect complement in this case. With a bit of madness, we can also indulge in a dry Rose, which will not be inferior in any way to the other proposals

.Wine for potatoesExtremely

appreciated in our homes, the potato can play the main role on the plate and thus on itself focus the attention of the wine. It has a distinctive flavor and a solid structure, so in this case wines with a more marked body will prove to be a good choice. For creamy mashed potatoes and potatoes, an obvious and reliable direction will be a barrel-aged Chardonnay. For roasted and fried versions, we can also go for delicate reds in the style of Pinot Noir or Gamey varietals

.Vegetables in tomato saucesRatatouille-style

dishes are enjoying

well-deserved

popularity around the world. A dish based on eggplant, zucchini or onions in a tomato sauce is a stew meal with an essential and complex layer of flavor. As is usually the case with tomatoes - they will understand perfectly with a wine from the Sangiovese varietal, but in this case also a good choice will turn out to be Syrah or Grenache - varietals that give wines full of fruitiness, without poignant acidity and tannins

.Wine for green vegetablesGreen

vegetables above all prefer white wines. When preparing a meal based on broccoli, cabbage or spinach, it is best to choose a wine with a distinctly dry character, crisp acidity and a crisp finish. So here, for example, a Riesling would work well, but one without too much residual sugar. An additional, interesting challenge remains, for example, asparagus. A classic pairing for asparagus is Gruner Veltliner, which combines with its character and flavor in a particularly impressive way. And for bitter vegetables such as artichokes, a more mature sparkling wine such as Champagne or a longer-aged Cava will prove to be an excellent pairing.
