Wine Drouhin Chambertin Grand Cru A.O.C..

According to tradition, the name of this famous grand cru comes from the French word champ meaning field and a medieval winemaker named Bertin. He noticed the unusually favorable natural conditions of the site on which today's Chambertin vineyard sits and planted it with the Pinot Noir variety. Drouhin applies very strict production limits of 35 hl/ha in the production of his Chambertin. The grapes are harvested by hand, fermentation and maceration takes place over 18 days in open wooden vats. The wine is aged for at least two years in new oak barrels. It contains a wealth of aromas and flavors: red cherries, dark chocolate, lycopodium, black truffles. Chambertin has solid structure, velvety tannins and perfect balance.
