Marlborough (New Zealand) is a region that lies on the northern coast of the raypse. The vineyards are located between the Wairau and Awetere Valleys. The climate in the Marlborough region varies, and this is evidenced by the fact that the Wairau Valley has many sunny days while the weather in Awetere is cooler, drier and windier. There are quite a few temperature differences in the Marlborough region, which affect the distinctive taste of wines from the Sauvignon Blanc varietal. Dry white wines from the Sauvignon Blanc varietal in the Marlborough region are filled with aromas of gooseberry, passion fruit, lime, freshly cut grass and herbal notes.

Marlborough (New Zealand) is a region whose star wines are dry white wines.
