We invite you to explore the list of wines from Argentina, where detailed descriptions, high-quality photos and reviews of our customers will help you choose the right bottle.

Grape VarietiesThe megemon

of Argentine wines is Malbec, from which Argentina has created an emblem of its winemaking. The variety was imported from southwestern France, and now occupies an important place in almost every region. Another leading variety is Criolla Chica, but it mostly serves the needs of households or distilleries. Among the classic varieties, next on the red side is Bonarda, which came here from northern Italy, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Tempranillo, Pinot Noir and Tannat and Petit Verdot. The number one white variety is Torrontes Riojano, ahead of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Viognier and Reisling.

Recommended winesWines

from Argentina are very popular on our site. Especially worth recommending are Trapiche Malbec and Trapiche Oak Cask Malbec, which illustrate the flavors of Argentine wines in a beautiful way. When tasting them, you can smell the distinct aroma of ripe red fruit, with a delicate sweet and sour finish. They will also work well with meals - especially heavier red meat dishes and dishes. Of the white wines, the most popular is Trapiche Astica Sauvignon Blanc Semillon. This semi-dry wine from Mendoza is filled with aromas of peach and apricot, with notes of hazelnut poking through in the background. It is characterized by balanced acidity, with a mild, fruity and refreshing taste.

Wine RegionsThe most important

regions and varieties in Argentina's wine zones, responsible for its image, are:
  • Norte - a zone shaped by broad plains valleys crisscrossed by mountain ranges, with a fairly mild climate. The leading region here is Salta, famous for the best wines of the Torrontes variety. Other regions include Catamarca and Tucuman. Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tannat varietals are also important in Norte.
  • Cuyo - the central wine zone, hiding Argentina's most famous Mendoza region. The diverse landscape of Cuyo, means that vineyards can be found here both on the plains and very high on the slopes of the mountains. The local climate is typically continental and dry. Other regions of the zone include La Rioja, San Luis and San Juan. In all of them the Malbec variety dominates, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Chardonnay and Torrontes.
  • Patagonia - the southern wine zone of the country, characterized by very different climatic conditions. In the Neguen region the diurnal amplitudes are quite large, while in the Rio Grande and La Pampa the climate is milder and more balanced. Malbec still plays a large role in the regions here, but they are known primarily for their excellent Pionot Noir and Syrah, as well as Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
