The range of styles we can get with it makes Aragonez suitable for a summer get-together with friends, as well as for structured, substantial meals crying out for a good wine

.Characteristics of

the varietalAragonez, also known in Portugal as Tinta Roriz, is characterized by a bouquet composed of cherries, figs and plums with a slight tomato note. On the tongue it pleases with expressive fruitiness, a fairly light yet juicy structure and fine, well-balanced acidity. After sufficient time in oak barrel, the wine will begin to evolve toward maturity and elegance, developing aromas of vanilla, leather or tobacco in the bouquet. In the mouth, the structure will acquire complexity with sublime tannins and a long, complex finish. Thanks to these characteristics, Aragonez is often compared to the flavor profile of the Cabernet Sauvignon varietal.

More than 80% of the Aragonez grape growing area is located in Spain. In the most popular regions such as Rioja, it is known as Tempranillo, and the length of aging in barrel is determined by the labels - Joven, Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva. The situation is similar in the highly prestigious Ribera del Duero region, where the grape described is also referred to as Tinta Fina and Tinto del Pais. The common opinion is that the wine coming from Ribera is characterized by a fuller and more complex structure.

Slightly softer wines from the Aragonez grape, with a simpler structure and full fruitiness can be found in Toro, under the name Tinta de Toro, but also in Valdepenas, referred to locally as Cencibel

.With what to pair Aragonez wine?

Due to its complex structure, expressive tannin and pronounced acidity, the ideal companion for a glass of Aragonez wine will be structured, fatter meats. Steak, barbecue or burger are suggestions that are classic meals perfectly enriching the feast.

In addition, keep in mind tex-mex cuisine. Aragonez goes outstandingly well with chili con carne, burritos or tacos. Staying also in red tomato sauces and beef, it is necessary to mention an Italian classic that will suit here perfectly, namely the classic lasagna

.Aragonez - a wine with an excellent relationship between price and qualityAragonez wines

are characterized by excellent quality at attractive prices. The grape itself, on the other hand, offers a full range of possibilities - from young, crisp wines full of fruitiness, through deep, structurally complex and barrel-aged liquors, ideal for a meal, to long-aged bottles with great potential for aging in the cellar. Thus, everyone can find something for themselves among them.
