Description Alma de Luzon DOP Jumilla 2018

Alma de Luzon DOP is the result of a blending of two varietals - Monastrell and Syrah. Monastrell comes from La Traviesa, a vine that is already 45 years old. Syrah, on the other hand, grows in El Pocico, on sandy soils that allow the vine to have an extraordinary intensity and concentration of aromas. The wine is aged for 22 months in French and American oak barrels.

The collaboration between Monastrell and Syrah produces a remarkable effect starting with a captivating dark cherry color in the glass. The aromatic bouquet, on the other hand, is full of red and dark fruit aromas, spices and smoky notes. On the palate, Alma de Luzon is extremely juicy, characterful, yet silky and fresh.

This wine will be perfect in many situations - both with appetizers and with red meats. It's also the perfect complement to pizzas or pastes. Great aging potential makes it an excellent choice for a gift to the wine cellar.

Bodegas Luzon Winery

Bodegas Luzon is one of the main producers and exporters of quality wines from the D.O. appellation. Jumilla, and one of the wineries that can boast a long history and traditions dating back to the 19th century. The origins date back to 1841, when the winery was founded by Don Jose de Moline, dedicated to his daughter, Ana Josefa de Molina.

Bodegas Luzon's vineyard philosophy focuses on the vine from the ground up - right from the moment of planting. Therefore, the 1,200 hectares of vines are cultivated with the utmost care. Most of them are Monastrell, a varietal extremely characteristic of the region. Nevertheless, among other grapes there is room for Garnacha Tintorera, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Macabao and also Chardonnay.
