Wine La Spinetta Barbaresco Valeirano 2013

Production of this fine wine began as early as 1997. Its cru is located in Teiso, where 50-60 year old vines are planted at an altitude of 380 meters above sea level. Nights there are cool, which benefits the harvest. Maceration and alcoholic fermentation is carried out in temperature-controlled tanks for an average of 14-15 days. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 20-22 months in 20% new barrels, while the remaining 80% are used barrels. The average production is 7,000 bottles.

La Spinetta's Barbaresco Valeirano is made from 100% Nebiollo grape. It is a beautiful, elegant wine, refined in every milliliter. It displays surprising minerality and incredible structure. The nose and palate show notes of cherry, blackberry, red berry fruit and red orange. These fruit notes are intertwined with delicate notes of licorice, cedar and tea leaves. The tannins are fine and the finish is long and intense. It should be served at 16-17 °C. It will pair perfectly with rabbit and wild boar meat dishes.
