Wine Joseph Drouhin AOC Cote De Nuits-Villages 2017

One of the outstanding red wines from Burgundy from esteemed top producer Joseph Drouhin. This wine is made from Pinot Noir grapes from the best sites in the south of the Cote de Nuits: Corgoloin, Comblanchein, Premeaux, Brochon and Couchey. The historic name Cote de Noits comes from the town of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The wine is aged for 12 to 15 months in French oak barrels, 10% of which are new.

It is a wine of remarkable harmony and ruby color. The nose shows intense cherries with notes of licorice and spice. The palate conceals silky tannin broken by a characteristic lively acidity. The long and balsamic finish leaves no doubt - this is Pinot Noir of the highest order.

This wine will go well with white meats - it will especially take a liking to duck. In addition, the mature and balsamic character of the wine will wonderfully complement a mushroom risotto or a board of long-matured cheeses. The exceptional quality of the wine is also ideal for placing a bottle in a wine cellar.

Domaine Drouhin Vineyard

In 1880, Joseph Drouhin, a native of the Chablis region, chose the town of Beaune as the headquarters of his wine company. Over the years and with each successive generation, the number of vineyards increased. Today, the family empire has vineyards in all the key regions of Burgundy, with most of them located in the premier and grand crus areas.

The estate consists of nearly 4 hectares (10 acres) of land in the grand cru vineyards of Vaudésir, Les Clos, Les Preuses and Bougros, as well as about 7 hectares (17 acres) of Chablis Premier Cru vineyards and 68 hectares (168 acres) of Chablis land, on both sides of the Serein River. The sites consist mainly of kimmeridian soil - a mixture of limestone, clay and fossilized oyster shells.

A deep respect for nature is evident at every stage of winemaking, so all the vineyards are farmed using biological and biodynamic methods. The Joseph Drouhin style combines harmony and exceptional character, providing endless pleasure from tasting fine wines.
