Wine Joseph Drouhin AOC Cote De Beaune Villages 2019

One of the great wines of esteemed producer Joseph Drouhin. It is made entirely from Pinot Noir grapes. Appellation rules allow the use of fruit from plots around as many as 16 territories. Thanks to careful selection, grapes chosen from a few of them make up the result of such high quality. The wine is aged for up to 15 months in French oak barrels.

Cote de Beaune Villages from Drouhin shows in the glass both a character full of elegance and direct expression of Pinot Noir. The nose is full of delicate notes of red fruit, while the palate is a concert of refreshing acidity and well-defined structure. This is an excellent wine showing the charater of Burgundy terroir combined with the region's most famous varietal.

This wine will go perfectly with white meats, delicate appetizers, as well as pastas and risottos. The wine's delectable character will handle solo tastings with friends, and its refreshing note makes it an excellent choice for summer afternoons.

Domaine Drouhin Vineyard

In 1880, Joseph Drouhin, a native of the Chablis region, chose the town of Beaune as the headquarters of his wine company. Over the years and with each successive generation, the number of vineyards increased. Today, the family empire has vineyards in all the key regions of Burgundy, with most of them located in the premier and grand crus areas.

The estate consists of nearly 4 hectares (10 acres) of land in the grand cru vineyards of Vaudésir, Les Clos, Les Preuses and Bougros, as well as about 7 hectares (17 acres) of Chablis Premier Cru vineyards and 68 hectares (168 acres) of Chablis land, on both sides of the Serein River. The sites consist mainly of kimmeridian soil - a mixture of limestone, clay and fossilized oyster shells.

A deep respect for nature is evident at every stage of winemaking, so all the vineyards are farmed using biological and biodynamic methods. The Joseph Drouhin style combines harmony and exceptional character, providing endless pleasure from tasting fine wines.
