Wine Gnarly Head Old Vine Zinfandel

Old Vine Zinfandel is a wine from the USA, from California, and more specifically it is from the region famous for its brilliant Zin's - Lodi AVA. The wine is characterized by intense aromas of raspberry, black cherry with nuances of spice and chocolate. The wine was made from the fruit of the Zinfandel grape, which is closely related to the excellent Italian Primitivo. Aged in oak barrels from the US and France, it gains complexity and becomes rounder and more pleasant. "Old Vine" means old vines, and they signify reduced yields while being high in quality. The finish is long and intense. 2009 received 91 points at the UItimate Beverage Challenge and a gold medal at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
