Wine Cahors Malbec AOP Lionel Osmin & Cie

A complex and juicy wine from the Cahors appellation located in the southwestern region of France. At the heart of this appellation is the Malbec varietal, which in the case of this wine makes up 100% of the bottle. The wine was aged for 12 months, a quarter of which was spent in oak barrels. Two months before bottling, the barrel-aged portion of the wine is blended with the remaining wine to achieve the perfect balance between youthful expression and an additional delicate oak finish.

This is a very dark wine with a deep color. Expressive aromas in a bouquet full of dark fruits such as blackberries and blueberries blend fantastically together with sweet spice notes - in the background emanating vanilla and cinnamon, but also a touch of cocoa and cigar aromas. On the palate, silky tannins and a pleasant, round structure finish showcasing the richness of this wine from Cahors.

It is an ideal choice with duck, grilled steaks, aged cheeses, truffles or fried mushrooms. As the main representative of Malbec in Europe, it's also a great opportunity to move from Argentina to France for a moment and take a look at the cradle of this varietal.
