Description Labastide Dauzac AOC Margaux 2019

Before tasting Labastide Dauzac Margaux AOC wine, we suggest aerating the bottle. This will allow you to perceive its complex bouquet. Grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varietals are hand-harvested into small crates and sorted on tables after picking. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with a patented crushing system. The wine is then aged for 18 months.

The deep, purple-red color expresses a subtle balance of a combination of fruit, flowers and spice with a complex body and tannins that together provide a unique taste experience. The nose is fruity and full of spice. On the palate, the wine strikes a subtle balance between the richness of the tannins and the aromatic diversity of the fruit. Cabernet Sauvignon dominates with its complexity, elegance and minerality, while Merlot adds roundness and silkiness.

It pairs perfectly with beef, lamb, game and poultry. Labastide Dauzac Margaux AOC would make an excellent gift, as it is in a class of its own. A wine with aging potential.

Chateau Dauzac Vineyard

Chateau Dauzac is a vineyard that has become famous for its incredible coupage based primarily on Cabernet Sauvignon, located in the municipality of Labarde in the Margaux appellation, additionally finding itself classified fifth in the Medoc and Graves classification of 1855. In the 1880s, Dauzac's vineyards were the site of trials that led to the development of a fungicide capable of controlling powdery mildew, known as "bouillie bordelaise."

The Dauzac estate covers 120 hectares of land, four hectares of which are outside the Marguax appellation qualifying under the Haut-Medoc appellation. The vineyards are planted with 65% Cabernet Sauvignon varietal, while the remainder is planted with Merlot. These fruits are used to produce the estate's Grand Vin, as well as a second label, La Bastide Dauzac. The plot in Haut Medoc, meanwhile, provides the fruit for the third wine, Chateau Labarde.
