Description Château Dauzac Margaux 2015

Chateau Dauzac Margaux 2015 is an aging wine characterized by a balance between rich tannins and aromatic diversity of fruit. Cabernet Sauvignon dominates with elegance, minerality and complexity, while Merlot complements beautifully with its roundness and silkiness. In addition, malolactic fermentation causes the wine to mellow.

Chateau Dauzac Margaux 2015 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (72%) and Merlot (28%) varietals. The wine was aged in new French oak barrels (60%) for 15 months. Before tasting, we recommend aerating the wine to release the complex bouquet of aromas and fully open it up.

In the glass, the beautiful deep color of Château Dauzac expresses a subtle balance where fruit, flowers and spices combine. The complex body and firm tannins provide an unforgettable taste experience. The wine is ready to drink, but can also be aged in the cellars for up to 15 years.

We suggest pairing Chateau Dauzac Margaux 2015 with game, mature cheeses, aged beef and even some white meats.

Wine reviews of Château Dauzac Margaux 2015

"Richness and depth are contained in this perfectly concentrated and pure expression of Margaux. Complex plum and fruit aromas and flavors emerge amid very firm, fresh tannins. Perfectly crafted." - James Suckling.

Producer Château Dauzac

Château Dauzac is a producer making Bordeaux blends with a dominant Cabernet Sauvignon varietal in the Labarde commune of Margaux. It was ranked fifth in the 1855 Medoc and Graves Classification. The estate gained in the 1880s, when the vineyards were the site of trials leading to the development of a fungicide to combat powdery mildew.

The Dauzac estate covers 120 hectares of land with a single 49-hectare block of vineyards. Of that, four hectares are outside the Margaux appellation and qualify only for the Haut-Médoc.

The vineyard is planted in a ratio of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot, which produces the Labastide Dauzac wine. The four-hectare plot in the Haut-Médoc supplies the fruit for the Dauzac wine, Château Labarde.

Margaux appellation

Margaux is the largest commune in the Medoc, where wines are created that are among the most sensual and appealing. They are the quintessence of refinement and subtlety. The finest wines are unique, delicate and, in their own wonderful way, completely different from those found in the surrounding communes.
