Rum Botran 12 Year Old Anejo Rum

Botran 12 Year Old Anejo is a rum from Guatemalan distillery Ron Botran. Although the label states 12 years, it should be noted that Guatemalan law allows rums to be labeled using the oldest spirit in the blend. Thus, Botran is a blend of rums from 6 to 12 years old. This results in a balance between youthful austerity and old, dignified notes. On the nose, the beverage opens with a beautiful aroma of fresh brown sugar, caramel and syrup. After a while, oak aromas emerge in the glass. The palate is dense, with hints of coffee and chocolate and a hint of dried fruit. The finish is short and sweet with woody spices and brown sugar.
