Each place gives a different character to the wine thanks to the different terroir and rich culture of vinification, which makes it possible for us to discover this strain again and again, tasting more bottles and delving into the world of the many faces of Pinot.

Characteristics of the Pinot Gris/Pinot Grigio strainA very

interesting point is the color of the skin of the grapes that Pinot Gris presents - it is very dark, kept in a palette of gray colors. This is where the subsequent names came from, as each of them contains the word "gray" in its member (grigio, gris, grau). Wines created from this grape are described as fruity and crisp. Tasting away, one will experience aromas of lemons, limes, apples, and sometimes white peaches and nectarines. In the more mature wines from the best plots, notes of almond, honey and spice also appear. Marked, pleasantly crisp acidity gives the final expressive character, complemented by a well-structured structure

.Alsatian style - Pinot GrisPinot

Gris grown in the northeastern part of France is regarded as the flagship varietal of Alsace, being, along with Riesling, Gewurztraminer or Muscat, the showpiece of the region. Wines made from it enjoy a rich structure, full bouquet and oily body, with a touch of minerality lingering on the tongue. They also often show high aging potential for white wines. Interestingly, Alsatian winemakers previously used yet another term for their wines - Tokay d'Alsace, although the wines had nothing in common with Hungarian Tokay. It was only after the Hungarians reserved the nomenclature for wines from their most famous region - Tokaj, that a new name, known today in Alsace, was adopted - Pinot Gris

.With which dishes to combine Pinot Gris wineThe undoubted

advantage of wines made from the Gris Pinot varietal is the structure that allows them to be combined with many types of dishes. The crisp and pleasant character of the wine allows you to taste with friends in the form of an aperitiv, and the oiliness and depth perfectly cope with the complementation of meals based on white meat and fish.

Wine from the Pinot Gris strain, also known as Fromenteau, will go well with chicken or turkey, including in a spicy version. And when holding a bottle of mineral Alsatian Pinot Gris in your hands, it's hard to say no to pairing it with seafood and shellfish, although perch or sole will be an equally wonderful complement

.The many faces of Pinot Gris/Pinot GrigioThe diversity of the

character of wines made from Pinot Gris, Pinot Grigio or Grauburgunder grapes, as well as the attractive price, make it hard to stop at getting to know one or two proposals. We strongly encourage you to discover more secrets in the bottles in which top winemakers from around the world have corked their own interpretations of this fascinating varietal.
