Whisky Tomatin French Collection Rivesaltes Edition Single Malt Whisky 2008

A limited edition Single Malt whisky presented by the esteemed producer from the Highlands region of Scotland, Tomatina. This unique distillate is aged for 12 years and finished in barrels of fortified Rivesaltes wine, produced in the Languedoc, one of France's famous wine regions. The whisky was bottled at 46% strength.

Tomatin Rivesaltes Edition combines a character full of fresh fruit notes and with sweet accents coming from a wine from the Rivesaltes appellation. Flavors include aromas of roasted nuts, sweet barley and ripe fruit. The delicate yet expressive and harmonious structure provides a long and fruity finish full of satisfying sensation.

Tomatin Distillery

The formal Tomatin distillery was established and has been in operation since 1897, although it is believed that illegal whiskey production in the region was an important part as early as 200 years earlier.

The name Tomatin means "Hill of the juniper bush," which refers to the fact that the juniper tree does not smoke when smoked by what used to be the favorite choice of illegal distillers hiding their activities.
