Whisky Old Ballantruan 10YO Single Malt

Old Ballantruan 10YO Single Malt is a very interesting and original Scotch whisky from the Speyside region of the "lightly peated" or slightly smoky type. Tomintoul is known for producing "gentle dram" spirits, softer, subtle whiskies. Old Ballantuan 10YO is completely different. It's only produced for 2 weeks of the year and has as much as 55 ppm, a rather uncommon characteristic for whisky from Speyside. On the nose, the whisky is strongly peaty, with notes of heather and earth, with delicately fruity and creamy accents. On the palate, the whisky is bitter and peaty, while citrus, mild sweetness and nuts are noticeable for balance. The finish is smoky and peaty and the color is deep golden. A sensational item for those who prefer expressive, smoky and peaty whiskies with an extremely interesting background story.
