Ferrari Vineyard

Ferrari is an award-winning winery producing sparkling wines in the Trentino region of northern Italy. It produces wines using the classic method with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir under the Trento DOC appellation.

The company was founded in 1902, behind which Giulio Ferrari was inspired by the best wines of Champagne. Thus, Ferrari became one of the first Italian estates to make a large amount of Chardonnay plantings. Giulio Ferrari had no children, so in the 1950s he passed the business on to Bruno Lunelli, owner of a wine store in Trentino. Over the next few decades Lunelli increased production from 9,000 bottles a year to 100,000. Today's company is run by the third generation of the Lunelli family.

Ferrari works with some 500 grape-growing families in the Trentino mountains, and also operates its own vineyards. The wines are produced at Italy's largest sparkling wine facility, which stores millions of bottles in vast underground cellars.
